The last couple of weeks full of travel and eating out having taken their toll on my waistline, I decided to join Emily at the gym this evening. It seems like forever since I’ve gone and I certainly paid the price for being too lazy busy to go for the last month or two.
Home for some putzing around on the computer. Finally uploaded pictures from the San Luis Obispo trip to Flickr for all to enjoy.
Progress on driver performance continues. Seems every change brings incremental improvement, yet I still haven’t fully fixed the problem. Dialogue with the board vendor is helpful, and I believe convergence on a solution is imminent.
Stopped by the PennDOT center across the street from the office and replaced my driver’s license. New picture is every bit as dorky as the old one.
Home; informed of a party this weekend for my grandparents’ 60th wedding anniversary. Should be a great time, as my family’s parties tend to be.
Dinner was feta cheese omlettes and salad lovingly prepared by my wife, who then lovingly encouraged me to get ready to go to the gym.
Worked from home. Nice after a long car ride to sit in a comfy chair with a cat and a laptop and get some work done.
Further progress with the audio driver. From reports on the scene I infer that while the issue hasn’t been eliminated it has been improved. More work to come.
Headed to the gym in the evening, motivated by the desire to maintain my ability to toss my nephew around (30 lbs. doesn’t sound like much until it’s toddler-shaped and moving).
Drank some of the beer that East End isn’t allowed to call Eye Opener Coffee Porter and watched some Arrested Development while I noodled around with some hobby projects.
Enabling the FIFO in my driver helps, but not quite solves my problem. Also the FIFO behaves in ways contrary to the vendor’s documentation. I’ll have to send ask said vendor to clarify where (presumably) I went wrong.
Attempted lunch at NOLA in Market Square defeated by ridiculous line. Oh man did it smell good in there though. Chipotle was the consolation lunch.
Home then to the gym in an attempt to make up for the delicious yet gut-expanding dinner from yesterday. Will probably need to go back (without eating in the meantime) to fully work it off, but progress is progress and the food was damn-well worth it.
Spent most of the day adding some fancy GPIO and muxing trickery in an attempt to solve a driver issue. Got it most of the way there but it hangs under certain conditions.
Hit the gym after work.
Attempted several times to install Linux Mint Debian Edition on my laptop, but after one false start and some trouble with the install media I had to put it off until tomorrow.
