• Up early. Walk and a bagel before work.
  • After work cleaned up a bit and welcomed Emily’s parents for their visit this weekend. They arrived just as we sat down to a nice quinoa and chickpea dish that Emily made. I swear with her cooking I might even be willing to try vegetarianism. Maybe.
  • We got caught up and Emily’s parents gave us a belated first anniversary present: a pair of very fancy crystal whiskey glasses. They match the set we had already and now we can have as many as four people drinking whiskey out of fancy glasses. I need to meet some more people who drink whiskey.
  • After a long week everyone was exhausted so it was time for bed.

  • Up early; said goodbye to in-laws. Off to work.
  • Gave notice to my boss. Leaving Timesys to join Canonical’s OEM services team. Very excited.
  • Formally accepted offer from Canonical. Still excited.
  • Started wrapping up my remaining projects, helped out some with support. Wasted little time getting into “on my way out” mode.
  • Home. Dinner on the deck with Emily. Lovely, until it started to rain.

  • Up early; played with nephew.
  • Finished installing new cellar floor with Father-in-law. Then built a very nice work bench with a peg board and storage for tools.
  • My parents joined us for Easter Dinner. Lots of Polish food, all of which was as delicious as it is hard to spell.
  • After dinner Emily and I opened belated birthday gifts from her family. I got a home brewing kit (with a starter set of ingredients to make a porter), a Star Wars apron and lunch box, as well as a solar-powered lantern for the back porch. Emily got a similar apron along with Star Wars cookie cutters and a solar-powered wind chime.

  • Up and off to work.
  • Some more driver issue help from the chip vendor. Exploring potential issues further on up the stack. Lots of register value dumps being exchanged.
  • Lunch at DiBella’s again. Ordering process went more smoothly this time. Unsure if it’s me or the staff that has benefited from experience.
  • Left for Michigan after lunch to spend the weekend with my in-laws. Nephew is at the age where he’s getting too big to toss in the air but that’s the one thing he’s most interested in.
