Began my farewell tour of favorite Downtown lunch spots with DiBella’s. It’s a recent entry but quickly rose to become the best sandwich place in the Golden Triangle.
Started looking at travel arrangements for UDS. New manager said he’d put me in touch with Canonical’s travel people.
Started helping with support issues since I’m not taking on any new projects. Andy gave me a nasty support ticket about a possible memory leak in the USB gadget driver for one of our boards. I shouldn’t have said anything
Home then off to guitar lesson. Learned some interesting finger picking styles and variations on Travis picking.
Rode my bike to work; first cycling commute of the season. Perfect riding weather. Almost didn’t get tired or sweaty on the way in.
Lunch at DiBella’s (again). We are showing signs of addiction.
Very little progress made on the audio driver on my end. Starting to run out of things to tweak in my code. I’m reluctant to further the stereotype and blame the hardware but I need to double-check some possible hardware timing issues.
Office network ate itself toward the end of the day, making communication with the vendor impossible. Perhaps they found something.
Bike ride home went about as smoothly as can be expected for one so out of shape as myself. One disadvantage of living in Pittsburgh is that every hill you fly down on the way to work is one you must climb again on the way home. I think I heard my leg muscles crying.
Wrote two checks this evening. One was the final payoff amount for my car. The other was to my uncle’s church to buy Easter lilies in honor of his winning battle with leukemia.
Some more driver issue help from the chip vendor. Exploring potential issues further on up the stack. Lots of register value dumps being exchanged.
Lunch at DiBella’s again. Ordering process went more smoothly this time. Unsure if it’s me or the staff that has benefited from experience.
Left for Michigan after lunch to spend the weekend with my in-laws. Nephew is at the age where he’s getting too big to toss in the air but that’s the one thing he’s most interested in.
Work continues on the audio driver. Made some progress, but work continues.
Lunch at DiBella’s in Market Square. Really tasty subs but the ordering->paying->receiving your food process is pure chaos. Will be returning in any case.
Another area in which work continues is we’re trying to empty the keg of East End Snow Melt in the kegerator. I fear we bought too much. Each of us did our part as best we could.
Home. Dinner on the deck with my beautiful wife enjoying the beautiful weather before it turns cold again.
Watched Titus from Netflix. Wow is that a weird movie.
